Terms of use

Who we are

The Happiest Planner is published by The Happiest Planner, a business based in Florida ("we"). It is an independent planning tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Walt Disney Company, Walt Disney World Resort, or any of their affiliates. Disney, Walt Disney World, park, resort, restaurant and attraction names belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.

What the service is

The planner helps you estimate and organize a Walt Disney World trip: tickets, resort, dining, park days, Lightning Lane, packing and a budget. Every figure is labeled Published, Estimate or Yours, as explained on the Methodology page. Figures are not quotes. Prices, hours, availability, height requirements and policies are set by Disney and change without notice. You are responsible for confirming everything in Disney's own checkout before you buy anything.

Free use and the subscription

The intake questions, the When to go guide and the sample trip are free, with no card and no account. The free tier may carry advertising and affiliate links, disclosed where they appear. Everything else in the planner is a subscription handled by Stripe: for one destination (Walt Disney World or Universal Orlando) $12.99 a month or $49 a year; for both, $17.99 a month or $69 a year; renewing automatically until you cancel. Switching destination or term is prorated by Stripe. Cancel from the Budget page (Manage or cancel) or by emailing hello@thehappiestplanner.com; access continues to the end of the period already paid. Prices can change for future periods with notice on the pricing page. Signing in with the email on your Stripe receipt unlocks any other device, and the planner checks your subscription's status with Stripe about once a day.

No refunds for partial periods

Charges are not refunded for unused time in a month or year, a changed or cancelled trip, a different device, or dissatisfaction with an estimate; the free guide, the recording and the sample trip are shown before you subscribe so you can judge it first. If a charge succeeded and the planner never unlocked, email hello@thehappiestplanner.com with your Stripe receipt and we will fix the access or refund that charge.

Your plan lives in your browser

Accounts are optional and have no password. Sign in with your email and a six-digit code we send you; while you are signed in, your trip, saved meals and packing checks are saved to that account and open on any device where you sign in. Without an account, everything stays in your browser's local storage, and clearing site data or using a private window means the plan is not there; Send to my phone moves it with a link. Print or save your budget as a PDF if you want a copy.

Acceptable use

Do not scrape, resell or redistribute the data, attack the service, or use it to build a competing dataset. Wait-time data is provided by ThemeParks.wiki under terms that do not permit redistribution.

No warranty, limited liability

The service is provided as is. We do not warrant that any estimate, hour, price or recommendation is accurate or current. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including the cost of a trip. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits; where that is the case they apply to the extent permitted.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms and will change the effective date above when we do. Florida law governs these terms, and any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

Privacy policy

What we collect

As little as the service needs. Signed out, your trip plan lives only in your browser's local storage; we never see it, and clearing site data removes it. If you subscribe or sign in, we keep your email address (the one on your Stripe receipt), a sign-in code for 15 minutes, and your saved plan (dates, party, choices, saved meals, packing checks) on Netlify's storage so the plan opens on your other devices. Nothing else about you is kept. Email hello@thehappiestplanner.com to have the account and the saved plan deleted.

What leaves your browser

• Weather: your trip dates are sent to our server, which asks Visual Crossing for the forecast. No identifier is attached.
• Live wait times: the park name is sent to our server, which asks ThemeParks.wiki. No identifier is attached.
• Ask the planner: what you type in the chat is sent to our server and then to Anthropic, which runs the AI model, to work out your dates, party and preferences. Do not type anything you would not want sent to a third party. We do not store chat transcripts.
• Payment: checkout happens on Stripe's pages. Stripe collects your card and email and is the controller of that data under its own privacy policy. We receive a confirmation that the purchase succeeded and a session identifier, nothing else. When you sign in, we send the email you enter to Stripe to look up a subscription under that address; the planner also checks your subscription's status with Stripe about once a day. Nothing else about you is sent.
• Account and saved plan: when you sign in, the email and code go to our server and the plan is stored as described above. Sign-in emails go out through our email provider, which sees only your address and the code.
• Hosting: the site runs on Netlify, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, pages requested) for a short period for security.
• Affiliate links: clicking a gear link takes you to Amazon with our tracking ID; Amazon's privacy policy applies there.

Cookies and tracking

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, and the Meta pixel to measure our own advertising; each sets its own cookies under its owner's privacy policy, and neither receives your plan. Local storage keeps your plan on your device.

Children

The service is for adults planning a trip. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your rights and contact

Signed out, clearing your browser's site data removes everything. Signed in, write to us and we delete your email, your saved plan and any message you sent us within two business days; your Stripe billing record stays with Stripe under its own policy.
